2015 Gas Prices Put North Myrtle Beach Within Reach

We are all breathing a sigh of relief each time we fill up at gas stations across the country. The price of gasoline continues to decline, as it has for nearly a year. The benefits of low gas prices are obvious; less money spent on gas means more money you can spend somewhere else. But have you thought about what it can mean for your annual vacation?

Thousands of families drive to North Myrtle Beach every year to vacation in our popular resort town, and those folks will surely find it easier and more affordable to make it again this year. Some people choose to fly in to Myrtle Beach for vacation, but this year gas prices may make driving irresistible after figuring out the total cost of an airline ticket and baggage handling. Depending on where you live, flying also may not be the time-saver you though it was, so weigh both options before you decide to fly.

Lastly, if you have never been to North Myrtle Beach, consider the drop in the price at the pump just one more reason to check out this fantastic destination. Saving money on gas might mean that you can afford a more upscale condo or house for your family’s rental. It might mean more money to spend on attractions and activities that build memories. It also might mean more cash to shop and dine at our unique establishments. Go ahead and plan your 2015 vacation today and enjoy a relaxing and fun trip with your family without worrying about the cost of getting here!

Start a New Vacation Tradition in North Myrtle Beach

The east coast of the US is full of great vacation spots. Each region has a unique feel and offers a special kind of beach experience. If you and your family have been vacationing in the Outer Banks, Ocean Isle, Hilton Head, Charleston, or other east coast locations for years, consider making a change and seeing a new part of the Atlantic beach.

The Myrtle Beach area has been a mainstay for family vacations for over half a century. The Grand Strand is made up of several small beach communities branching out from Myrtle Beach, and the region has been continually reinventing itself with new attractions and activities while remaining a first rate vacation destination. Myrtle Beach is packed with all kinds of great sights and experiences. From helicopter rides to deep sea fishing and everything in between, Myrtle Beach is the most exciting destination for family vacations because it has the most activities, shopping malls, golf courses, seafood restaurants, and oceanfront accommodations all in one place.

When you have decided that you want to spend your vacation in Myrtle Beach, choosing the right accommodations is an important next step. North Myrtle Beach has the best oceanfront condos and houses for your vacation, and they’re all located minutes away from any attraction or activity. North Myrtle Beach has a reputation of being less crowded, quieter, and more family oriented than Myrtle Beach, while still offering a top notch beach experience. Ocean Drive Beach Rentals has a large assortment of oceanfront condos, beach houses, Cherry Grove Channel homes, and luxury properties for your vacation. We even have a number of condos and houses that are new for 2014. We want to host you for your spring mini vacation, weekly summer trip, or winter residence. North Myrtle Beach Vacations: Cheapest Not Always Best

When you begin your search for a rental property to accommodate your family for a beach vacation, you’ll want to decide first how many bedrooms you’ll need, whether a house or a condo suits you better, and the proximity of your rental to the beach and attractions. After you narrow down your selection to a few of your favorite properties, you can start comparing prices.

Unfortunately, not every rental property in North Myrtle Beach is an upscale, modern paradise with top shelf amenities; many rental companies offer low quality properties at rock-bottom prices. These rentals are often dated, worn out, and plagued with maintenance issues. They also lack attractive amenities like quality pool facilities and wireless internet. Many bargain-hunting vacationers make the mistake of renting one of these properties from a large rental company, thinking they scored a fantastic deal while in reality they only set themselves up for a miserable trip and a disappointed family. Or worse, they choose their accommodations based solely on the lowest price available. Don't let this be your fate!

Ocean Drive Beach Rentals has the cure for such cases. We rent high quality condos and houses that are well maintained, clean, and comfortable. Many come with incredible amenities like indoor and outdoor pools, hot tubs, fitness centers, golf cart rentals, and restaurants. Each condo is tastefully decorated, adding to your experience by creating a soothing environment in which to relax. Our selection of luxury condos rivals any others in the area. We may not have the cheapest rentals in town, but we do have the best. And remember – the cheapest rental you can find is cheap for a reason, and will most likely fail to impress you and your group. Don’t take chances with discounted rates and questionable rentals. Call us now or see our website to start planning the high-class vacation you’re looking for!

Independence Day in North Myrtle Beach

All summer, the Myrtle Beach area bustles with vacationers experiencing all the great accommodations, activities, attractions, and restaurants in town. Every day is magical, but the 4th of July in particular is a spectacle unlike any other. Summer is our favorite season, and nothing says summer like this classic holiday.

If you find yourself fortunate enough to be taking a trip to North Myrtle Beach or Myrtle Beach during 4th of July week, you can catch all sorts of fun activities that celebrate our Independence. Broadway at the Beach will have live music, entertainment, street performers, and fireworks over the lake. Barefoot Landing hosts a special fireworks show at 10:15 pm. In Murrell’s Inlet (just south of Myrtle Beach), The 30th Annual July 4th Boat Parade begins at 5 pm. Finally, the USS North Carolina (just across the state line in North Carolina) will present the Battleship Blast Celebration and a fireworks display.

No matter where you are, you can easily find an amazing fireworks show. Myrtle Beach will have beach fireworks from the 2nd Ave pier. In North Myrtle Beach, catch the fireworks from the Cherry Grove Pier in front of the Prince Resort. If you're staying in an Ocean Drive Beach Rentals property, this would be the closest fireworks show to you. We welcome all our guests for an unforgettable 4th of July week, and if you missed out this year, give us a call to book your vacation rental for next year!

Encounters: UFO Experience Coming to Myrtle Beach

One of the best things about vacationing in the Myrtle Beach area is all the great attractions to choose from. Even if you vacation here every year, there is always something new and exciting to do. Broadway at the Beach is welcoming a new exhibition this year, Encounters. This exhibition is taking the place of last year’s Bodies exhibit, and will feature UFO artifacts, photos, displays, and probably some interesting souvenirs.

Those who are familiar with Broadway at the Beach already know that the complex is a tourist’s fantasy. Hundreds of shops, boutiques, stores, and restaurants can be found at this one location, as well as world famous attractions like Ripley’s Aquarium, WonderWorks, the Pavilion Nostalgia Park, and Hard Rock Café. There are also other entertainment venues within a couple blocks: Myrtle Beach Pelicans baseball stadium, Myrtle Waves water park, NASCAR Speedpark, and the Palace Theater. For an unforgettable experience, we recommend a whole day to explore Broadway at the Beach and its surrounding attractions.

Encounters is opening April 4th, and will be ready for your summer vacation. They will be open until 8 pm on weeknights and 10 pm on Friday and Saturday. Adult tickets are $14, while kids’ tickets cost $10. Purchase tickets online to avoid admission lines. We’re looking forward to learning more about this special exhibit. Keeping with the UFO theme, Encounters seems to be mysterious and there is little info to be found on it right now. We’re hoping they will surprise us with some intriguing artifacts and evidence of otherworldly creatures visiting our planet! If you’ve seen this UFO Experience, tell us about it on our Facebook page. Our guests would appreciate the feedback!

Shopping for North Myrtle Beach Vacation Rentals

If you've been to the Myrtle Beach area before, you know you have a few choices when it comes to choosing a place to stay. There are so many hotels, resorts, condos, and vacation houses to choose from it can make your head spin! Shopping for a vacation rental does not have to be difficult. We've put together some helpful tips so you can go about shopping for your perfect vacation rental without the stress.

The best way to narrow down your choices is by answering two questions. The first one is easy: Do you want a house or condo? Houses are great for large groups and offer more privacy, but usually don’t offer lots of amenities like pools, hot tubs, fitness centers, or restaurants. The second question: Where do you want to stay? Myrtle Beach is a classic vacation town, and has much to offer. But many are finding it hard to navigate through all the vacation traffic, and families who want to be close to Myrtle Beach attractions come to North Myrtle Beach to skip the hassle. North Myrtle Beach is just minutes away from Myrtle Beach proper, and offers vacation rentals of equal or better quality. There’s also plenty to do without leaving town!

Luxury Condo at Seaside Resort, North Myrtle Beach

Let’s say you've narrowed down your choices and are browsing reviews and prices online. How do you trust that you’re getting the best value? Popular review sites can have conflicting reviews of the same condo complex, which can be confusing. Remember, most of the condos in North Myrtle Beach are privately owned residences and will differ greatly from each other, even in the same building. If you find a bad review online, pay attention to which rental company was used and avoid it. Your vacation rental is only as good as the rental company that manages it, so make sure you’re dealing with a trusted business.

Another important factor is price. A property can look attractive in online photos, but beware of low price points; you always get what you pay for. Vacationers often think they are getting a great condo at an unbelievable price – only to arrive and find out their place has been neglected or the rental company has terrible customer service. Cheaper isn't always better, so don’t shortchange yourself or your family on vacation. Spending a little more to ensure you get the best property is a choice you won’t regret and your family will thank you for. Ocean Drive Beach Rentals only deals with the best properties North Myrtle Beach has to offer, at competitive rates. Let us help you plan your next vacation!

Top 5 Reasons to Visit North Myrtle Beach

5.) The Weather. North Myrtle Beach has such a mild climate, folks come year round to enjoy it. As the summer heats up, vacationers stay cool by playing in the surf or hanging out on the breezy beach. While temperatures inland can approach 100 degrees, the beach stays quite a bit cooler, making it even more irresistible. In the winter months, we enjoy temperatures between 50 and 70 degrees on most days, making for an enjoyable season for snowbirds and off-season vacationers.

4.) The Location. While Myrtle Beach is an exciting destination for millions of vacationers, it is becoming notorious for crowded beaches, congested traffic, and declining accommodations. However, it still offers some of the best attractions, dining, and shopping anywhere on the eastern seaboard. North Myrtle Beach is growing in popularity because it is still close to great attractions and activities, but is much less crowded. Families who want to enjoy a quieter vacation come to us because our little community offers more breathing room and a “small town” type of environment, especially around Main Street. North Myrtle Beach is a convenient drive-to destination as well, within a day’s drive from most major cities in the eastern time zone.

3.) The Attractions. Just talk to anyone who has vacationed here, and they’ll tell you how much there is to do around Myrtle Beach. We have every type of entertainment you can imagine, literally from A to Z. Want to play a round of golf? We have that. See alligators and sharks up close? Check and check. Get a bird’s eye view of the beach from 200 feet? No problem. Hold a baby tiger? Yes, even that. Our attractions are so varied there is no possible way to do it all in one week. No matter what Ocean Drive Beach Rentals property you stay in, you’re always close to live entertainment, sports, kids’ adventures, parks, and museums, not to mention world-class shopping and dining!

2.) The Price. As mentioned before, North Myrtle Beach is a fantastic drive-to destination, within hours of any major eastern metro area. This means that if you live on the right side of the country, you don’t have to fly here. That fact alone takes a ton of stress out of the typical family’s travel plans. While you may be stuck in a car for a while, you’re not at the mercy of an airline or TSA. No security checkpoints, expensive airfare, scheduling hassles, or flight delays. A family of 4 could save over $1000 just by opting to drive rather than fly. Accommodations are also relatively inexpensive, compared to other beach destinations. We always have great deals on amazing vacation properties, and we’re just a click or phone call away.

1.) The Beach. North Myrtle Beach is divided into four sections: Windy Hill, Crescent Beach, Ocean Drive, and Cherry Grove. Each area has unique characteristics, and the beach areas differ slightly from each other. No matter where you go, the famous Grand Strand beach remains beautiful, with soft sand, salty sea breezes, and warm, calm water perfect for swimming. Ocean Drive’s beach is popular, with beachside diners and large resorts. Cherry Grove’s beach is quiet and secluded, with shallow waters extending well out into the ocean. Cherry grove also has a small inlet where you can take a boat out into the deep water or explore the channels and fish for flounder and bass. The beach gives you a peaceful, soothing feeling as you listen to the waves bounce off the shore, breathe the fresh air, and soak up the warm sunshine. We hope you make this dream a reality! Call us to plan your vacation to North Myrtle Beach.

Deep Sea Fishing in North Myrtle Beach

As we wrap up another beautiful year on the beach, a lot of folks will soon turn their attention to summer and make their plans for their family vacations and golf trips. When guests of Ocean Drive Beach Rentals check in, they often ask our staff for suggestions on things to do around North Myrtle Beach. For the men and adventurous individuals in the group, we always recommend deep sea fishing.

Fishing is always a safe bet for the men in the family because it allows for some genuine male bonding while hunting the elusive large fish of the Gulf Stream. It is also perfect for golf groups that want to vary their activities and mix things up in the midst of a weeklong golf vacation. Whether you want to fish for an entire weekend dozens of miles offshore, of take a leisurely cruise just off the coast for sea bass and flounder, you can choose which adventure suits you best.

Ocean Drive Beach Rentals partners with Hurricane Fleet of Calabash to bring you an unforgettable fishing experience at a discounted rate, as part of our Endless Fun Club. The short trip departs from the dock in Calabash and takes you on a short boat ride where you can simply drop your line and haul up your catch. You’re almost guaranteed to catch something on this half day trip, and the sea bass is delectable if you fry it the same day with some seasoned salt and a sprinkle of parsley and lemon. The more in-depth trips last up to 18 hours and are chartered upon request. On these longer trips into deep waters, anglers can land snapper, grouper, large sea bass, trigger fish, shark, and the occasional king mackerel or dolphin. If you have limited experience, you can trust that you are fishing with the most experienced and helpful boat staff on the Grand Strand.

When you make the arrangements for your family’s summer vacation or golf trip, ask about deep sea fishing. You are sure to have an incredible time with your friends or family catching some serious fish. Have it cleaned on the dock when you return and cook it right in your condo for the freshest seafood dinner you’ll ever have!

Flexible Payment Options for Your North Myrtle Beach Vacation

For many Americans, the last few years have been a financial roller coaster. So many of us are trimming our spending wherever possible and cutting back on luxuries that we used to enjoy. The good news is that people are still turning to annual vacations and getaways to escape the pressure, stress, or routine of everyday life. The bad news is that those trips are harder to afford if there is no system in place to help you pay in a flexible way that best fits your budget.

Ocean Drive Beach Rentals alleviates this problem by offering the best vacation value and customizing a payment plan for each of our guests. While some rental companies require the reservation be paid in full as soon as you finalize your plans, we use a different approach that understands that some families do not have the cash to pay for a vacation right away. Rather than missing out on your trip, make your plans with us and we will work out a payment plan that will make it easier to pay for your vacation. From now until New Year’s Day 2013, all weekly summer vacations can be reserved with just $100. From there you can pay monthly or periodically until your reservation is paid off. Since we require all our reservations be paid in full 30 days before the arrival date, this option has been working well for the many folks who have booked their property for summer 2013.

In addition to our $100 down offer, we also have many convenient ways to pay. A check or money order sent through the mail is a safe form of payment, but you can’t always trust the mail service to deliver on time if you are concerned with a payment deadline. If you are in a time crunch and your arrival date is fast approaching, consider using our automated payment system through Guest Web. Every reservation made at Ocean Drive Beach Rentals is automatically included in Guest Web, an online account where users can make payments, sign their rental agreement, and interact with office staff. If you have easy access to the internet and want to pay on your own schedule, this could be the best option for you. Guest Web also works great for those groups who have people paying separately. Each person can log into the same account and pay their share with their own credit card. Our phone lines are open Monday – Saturday, 8:30 – 5:30, and our staff are always available to take credit card payments over the phone.

Vacation is a special time and planning your trip should be an exciting, hassle-free experience. We take the trouble out of paying for your vacation so you can spend more time preparing for all the fun you’ll have when you arrive. That’s why we accept checks, money orders, cashier’s checks, and all major credit cards. Call us today to plan your next North Myrtle Beach vacation and find out why we are your vacation rental authority!
