Independence Day in North Myrtle Beach

All summer, the Myrtle Beach area bustles with vacationers experiencing all the great accommodations, activities, attractions, and restaurants in town. Every day is magical, but the 4th of July in particular is a spectacle unlike any other. Summer is our favorite season, and nothing says summer like this classic holiday.

If you find yourself fortunate enough to be taking a trip to North Myrtle Beach or Myrtle Beach during 4th of July week, you can catch all sorts of fun activities that celebrate our Independence. Broadway at the Beach will have live music, entertainment, street performers, and fireworks over the lake. Barefoot Landing hosts a special fireworks show at 10:15 pm. In Murrell’s Inlet (just south of Myrtle Beach), The 30th Annual July 4th Boat Parade begins at 5 pm. Finally, the USS North Carolina (just across the state line in North Carolina) will present the Battleship Blast Celebration and a fireworks display.

No matter where you are, you can easily find an amazing fireworks show. Myrtle Beach will have beach fireworks from the 2nd Ave pier. In North Myrtle Beach, catch the fireworks from the Cherry Grove Pier in front of the Prince Resort. If you're staying in an Ocean Drive Beach Rentals property, this would be the closest fireworks show to you. We welcome all our guests for an unforgettable 4th of July week, and if you missed out this year, give us a call to book your vacation rental for next year!

Father’s Day in North Myrtle Beach

The staff here at Ocean Drive Beach Rentals wishes all dads a Happy Father’s Day! If you are lucky enough to be in the North Myrtle Beach area to celebrate, here are a few tips for enjoying your day with Dad.

Take the paterfamilias to breakfast at any of the great, local pancake houses in North Myrtle. Golden Griddle on Main St offer delicious homemade food in a comfortable atmosphere. Also try Hot Stacks or Plantation Pancake House on Highway 17, just minutes from your vacation rental.

Treat Dad to a fun day on the water by booking a half day or full day fishing trip. He’s sure to love the experience of hanging out on a real Calabash fishing boat while hunting sea bass, snapper, flounder, and grouper. Call Hurricane Fishing Fleet for reservations.

Have a cookout right from your rental! Buy fresh meat from a local grocery store and if your rental offers a grill, gather the family around for some quality time outdoors. Afterward, hit the beach for some horseshoes or kite flying.

To top off the day, head down to Broadway at the Beach and let your father enjoy dinner at one of the unique, famous restaurants like Margaritaville, Senor Frogs, Hard Rock Café, or Liberty Steakhouse. Stroll around Broadway at the Beach and window shop or buy souvenirs at one of the many gift shops. You may even catch some dazzling local street performers!
