On the Road to North Myrtle Beach

North Myrtle Beach is an easy destination to reach by car travel from most Eastern U.S. cities. Many people find it cheaper to take a road trip than buy expensive plane tickets. You'll save money by driving your own car to Grand Strand attractions that are all a short drive down the road from your vacation rental.

Highway life is not all that boring. Many families use the several hours as quality bonding time. Take along portable DVD players and a few great movies, and North Myrtle Beach doesn't seem that far away from home. Books, hand-held video games, and Ipods are sometimes all children need to stay occupied.

Estimated Eastern U.S. Driving Times:

Atlanta, Georgia: 6 1/2 hours

Baltimore, Maryland: 8 1/2 hours

Charleston, West Virginia: 8 hours

Charlotte, North Carolina: 4 hours

Columbus, Ohio: 11 hours

Knoxville, Tennessee: 7 hours

Lexington, Kentucky: 10 hours

New York City, New York: 11 1/2 hours

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania: 11 hours

Richmond, Virginia: 5 1/2 hours
